CLANDESTINE, 1991

Sinners Bleed is the second song from Entombed's Clandestine album and it’s probably one of their best-known songs. It's also one of my favourites from this band.

Entombed have played this song live every time I saw them, which probably tells a lot about this song.

In 1993 I wanted to paint the whole song title, but instead I ended up painting only the first word, Sinners, together with Dams somewhere along the Länsiväylä highway. Plain and simple — focus on just the letters. Two shades of roller paint, one can of black Carosol for the outline, and the last drops of darkish blue for the gaps between the letters — most likely the very same can we had used for the first outlines. A budget piece, since there weren’t even any highlights included, which was really rare for me.

Once again, due to the nature of the painting mission, no sketches were saved. The ones seen here were drawn more recently, based on the actual piece.

The last sketch is something I drew in 2024, while listening to Clandestine. And who knows, maybe, just maybe, I’ll end up painting Sinners Bleed again in the future. I love those letters and as said, I really love the song!
