This is one of the few bands I’ve discovered through Spotify’s recommendations, about a year after they released their first album. So far (as of 2025), Ignea has released three albums — all of them absolute masterpieces. The fact that they’re from Ukraine and are still capable of creating and performing music is honestly beyond my comprehension. I mean, the entire country has been under military terror by Russia since 2014, which escalated into full-on warfare in February 2022.

I consider myself truly lucky to have seen them live — at the final show of their 2023 European tour, in December, in Helsinki. I really hope I get the chance to see them again in the future. Slava Ukraini!
